We're a family-owned mobile locksmith serving the Rockingham to Mandurah coast, with over 30 years in the trade. Here are honest answers to what people ask us most — and if yours isn't here, a quick call sorts it out.
Lockouts
What should I do if I'm locked out?
First, don't force it — kicking a door or prying a window usually costs more than the lockout. Check for another open door, a window you can safely reach, or a spare key with family or a neighbour. If you're still stuck, call a licensed local locksmith. We're mobile across the corridor Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and can usually get you back in without any damage. See our emergency lockout page for what to do.
Can you get me in without damaging my lock?
Almost always, yes. Wherever possible we use non-destructive entry — picking or bypassing the lock rather than drilling it — so your door and lock stay intact and keep working afterwards. Drilling is a last resort for high-security or seized locks, and we'll always talk you through it before doing anything that can't be undone.
Rekeying & Locks
How much does it cost to rekey a house?
It depends on a few things: how many locks you have, the type and brand of lock, whether you want them all keyed alike (one key for everything), and the callout to your suburb. Because every home is different, we don't publish a flat price — but we give you an exact quote on the spot before any work starts, with no surprises. Call 0400 040 838 for a quote, or read more about lock rekeying.
Do you rekey or replace — which is cheaper?
Rekeying is usually the cheaper option. We reuse your existing lock and simply change its internal pins so the old keys no longer work and a new key takes over — ideal after moving in, losing keys, or a change of tenants. We recommend replacing only when a lock is worn out, damaged, or you want a security upgrade. We'll give you an honest recommendation either way. Compare rekeying and new lock installations.
Do you do master key or restricted key systems?
Yes. We design and install master key and restricted key systems for homes, strata and businesses — giving you a controlled access hierarchy (one key that opens everything, or tiered access for different people) with strict control over who can copy keys. Learn more about master key & restricted systems.
Rentals & Compliance
What are the minimum lock standards for a rental property in WA?
Western Australia's residential tenancy rules set minimum security standards for rental properties (in force since 1 July 2015) — broadly, secure locks to external doors and key-operated locks to windows where practical, so the premises can be properly secured. Locks should also be changed or rekeyed between tenancies where keys aren't all returned. The exact items required depend on the property, so we assess it and fit whatever's needed to bring it up to compliance — see lock installations. For your legal obligations as owner or manager, confirm the current requirements with the WA tenancy authority.
